Our Collective Impact
In 2024, the Wasco and Hood River County Sheriffs saw the opportunity to partner to create a regional program that would make a positive impact on our respective communities. This two-county effort has been lauded by the State of Oregon and the LEAD Support Bureau as a model for other rural, resource-scarce counties. It is through this ongoing collaboration that Columbia Gorge LEAD effectively serves our region.
As a collective impact effort, LEAD Columbia Gorge is locally developed and managed by two bodies: the Policy Coordinating Group and the Operational Work Group. Together, these teams chart the course, review operational progress and challenges, and identify opportunities for systemic improvement.
The LEAD Project Manager coordinates the work of these groups while managing all aspects of the day-to-day activities for LEAD Columbia Gorge.
The success of the LEAD Columbia Gorge depends on the strength of our partnerships. It’s thanks to our shared commitment to changing systems and changing lives that LEAD Columbia Gorge is forging a safer, healthier, and more equitable future for our community.
